Army until captured aboard a blockade runner
and confined at Fort Lookout, Maryland.
The museum displays Lanier memorabilia and the
gift shop sells books on the Civil War, items
on Lanier, and other related articles. Membership
in the Middle Georgia Historical Society is
available. The organization uses the Sidney
Lanier Cottage as its headquarters and publishes
a quarterly newspaper.
