POLICE ADMINISTRATION
This division is comprised of the Chief, the Deputy Chief, Internal Affairs, Fiscal Management and Planning, Training and Accreditation. This division is responsible for the overall direction and supervision of the police department.

Support Services
This division is comprised of several squads, each emphasizing on a different area – crimes against persons; specialized traffic; intelligence; crime lab; gang investigation; drug investigation; Violent Crime Reduction Task Force; juvenile crime investigation; Victim Assistance; Court Liaison.

PATROL DIVISION
This division is comprised of the traffic section and teams of police located strategically throughout the city. Patrol officers are assigned to the following precincts:

Area I

PRECINCT ONE, East Macon
PRECINCT TWO, South Macon
Area II
PRECINCT THREE, North Macon
PRECINCT FOUR, West Macon


There are also many specialized units in this division, including:

Mobile Command Unit
SWAT
K-9
Bike Patrol
Parking Enforcement
Traffic Enforcement, including Fatality Investigation and the DUI Squad
Victim-Witness Assistance
Hostage Negotiators
Honor Guard

MANAGEMENT SERVICES DIVISION
This division provides all support functions except for those reported directly to the Chief. Support services consist of communications, records, animal control, and crime analysis – statistics.

YOUTH AND INTERVENTION DIVISION
This division is a catalyst for promoting and continuing crime prevention and community oriented policing initiatives as a whole throughout the entire police department. This division coordinates with other city departments by initiating focus on cooperative, proactive involvement programs that will deter crime and social problems within the City. Some of the programs operating out of this division are:

Neighborhood Watch
Senior Citizens Programs (TRAID)
Youth at Risk Programs (PAL, etc)
AmeriCorps
D.A.R.E
Citizens on Patrol
Operation Identification

These are just a few of the many programs that already exist. Under this newly created division, more programs will be implemented to continue to address the specific needs of the communities of the City of Macon.
