The Human Resources provides essential personnel support services for the City's 1,400 person work force, including:

• Human Resource policies and guidelines affecting all employees.
• Wage and salary administration, employee classification and evaluation.
• Recruiting, employing, and processing all new employees for the City.
• Training and development to include inter-personal relations.
• Employee benefits such as life insurance, health insurance, pension, tuition reimbursement, and EAP.
• Worker's Compensation administration. Compliance with local, state, and federal laws affecting personnel.
• Operation of a Medical Dispensary and coordination of Wellness Program (physical fitness).
• Testing employees and applicants.
• Payroll administration.
