| Code Enforcement: The Economic
and Community Development Department also oversees
code enforcement of 1 and 2 family dwellings.
The Department is responsible for inspecting
existing 1 and 2 family dwellings for compliance
with City code.If the property does not meet
the minimum standard of the Housing Code, the
deficiencies are noted and steps are taken to
have the property owner correct the deficiencies.
Public Participation: The Economic
and Community Development Department works with
neighborhood associations across the city to
ensure that residents have a voice on developments
in their neighborhood.Staff members regularly
attend neighborhood meetings to discuss proposed
projects and improvements in their neighborhoods.Some
of the projects that ECDD undertakes include:

Social Services: The Economic and
Community Development Department works with
a number of social service agencies that administer
programs to improve the quality of life for
the elderly, youth, and persons with special
needs.
