| The
City of Macon is an Equal Employment Opportunity
(EEO) employer and is committed to providing
a professional work environment that maintains
employee equality, dignity and respect. In keeping
with this commitment, the City strictly prohibits
all forms of employment discrimination, whether
based on race, color, religion, sex, ethnic
background, national origin, age, disability
or any other characteristic specifically protected
by federal law.
The
Compliance Officer's primary responsibility
is to investigate employment discrimination
complaints. Any City of Macon employee (past,
present, or prospective) who believes he or
she has been discriminated against must notify
the Compliance Officer as soon as possible after
the alleged act of discrimination to allow the
City to investigate the complaint and take prompt,
corrective action. The Discrimination
Complaint Form is available on line and
at the Compliance Office.
In
addition to investigating employment discrimination
complaints, the Compliance Officer also counsels
employees seeking guidance regarding workplace
conflicts, provides technical assistance to
management, assists the HR Training Division, and carries out
various other responsibilities and projects
to ensure equal employment opportunity.
